Press Release Body = \"On September 11, 2001, Islamo-Fascist terrorists slaughtered thousands of innocent Americans. Their deaths remain a somber reminder of the palpable threat that Islam poses to Western civilization,\" says John Gagnon, Executive Director of SOLO (Sense of Life Objectivists).
Speaking on the eve of the 5th anniversary of Islamo-Fascism\'s most blatant declaration of war on the West, Mr. Gagnon continues:
\"Islam is not a good religion hijacked by extremists. Rather, Islam, in its unadulterated form, is an irrational, dogmatic belief system that demands submission at gunpoint. Its followers hate freedom, reason, justice, and productive achievement - all values symbolized by the Twin Towers, and the people who worked in them.
\"Five years on, there remains a substantial threat to freedom-loving people around the globe. Increased belligerency by Islamic terrorist groups and by Iran - a militant Islamic theocracy - reveal that our enemies are fanatically committed to their evil cause. For five years, the world has witnessed the potency of Islam\'s hatred of freedom. It manifests itself in regular beheadings, bombings, the kidnapping and slaughtering of innocents, gunpoint conversions, and the forcible oppression of women.
\"Despite the clear and present danger that Islam presents, intellectuals are engaged in an orgy of willful ignorance and the leaders of the free world consent to and actively endorse diplomacy with the representatives of militant Islam. The policy of appeasement they advocate will do nothing but embolden those who want to destroy our lives, strip away our freedoms, and turn us into slaves.\"
Mr. Gagnon states that SOLO, as an Objectivist organization committed to Ayn Rand\'s philosophy of reason and freedom, urges President Bush to wage unrelenting war against Islamo-Fascism abroad, not to allow a democratically-elected version of it to take power in Iraq - and not to embrace a Christian version of it at home.
\"The words of Patrick Henry are as applicable today as they were in 1775: \'Gentlemen may cry, Peace, Peace - but there is no peace. The war is actually begun!\'\"
